Haywards Heath
Just a stone's throw from the South Downs, and in the heart of the Sussex countryside is Haywards Heath. The town owes much of its growth to the railway, which included a branch line from the nearby Bluebell Railway. The town has an impressive collection of Victorian and Edwardian houses, many situated in mature grounds surrounding the conservation area of Muster Green. Discover more on a self-guided walk or explore a little bit further on one of the cycle routes around the town. Victoria Park and Beech Hurst Gardens are great places in which to relax, enjoy a picnic, listen to a concert, or take part in a game of pitch and putt.
The town has an excellent choice of places to eat, including The Broadway - a honey-pot of restaurants, bistros and wine bars, offering something for all tastes and a great place to watch the world go by.
Shoppers can find a wide variety of shops in and around the pedestrianised Orchards Shopping Centre. Plus many events are held in the town and its parks, and Clair Hall offers year-round entertainment including a popular comedy club.
Haywards Heath is also an excellent base from which to explore famous Sussex gardens and a wide variety of places to visit in Sussex. Plus you'll find a great range of hotels and bed & breakfasts in and around the town.
