Visit Heathfield
Heathfield stands on a ridge, surrounded by beautiful, rolling Sussex countryside with magnificent views to the south. The rapid growth of Heathfield in a short period gives the town centre a strong Victorian and Edwardian character. By the time the railway, known locally as the Cuckoo Line, closed in 1968, the town centre very much resembled its appearance today. The Cuckoo Line is now know as the Cuckoo Trail a very popular route for walking, cycling and horse riding.
The Heathfield Show, held on the late May Bank Holiday draws thousands to the town. More recent events which have also become established as regular dates in the Heathfield calendar are Le Marché held on August Bank Holiday Monday, the Cuckoo Fair held in April and the Heathfield Carnival in June.
Heathfield's Farmers' Market is held every 3rd Saturday of the month.
