Enjoy Sussex Local Accommodation Scheme

We continue to support and recommend the National Quality Assessment Scheme (star ratings) however,the Enjoy Sussex Local Accommodation Scheme offers an alternative for accommodation that would like to be assessed at a basic level with a minimum standard of quality for visitors.

For Accommodation Providers: Why should you join the Local Accommodation Assessment Scheme?

The scheme is a nationally recognised, low-cost version of the full National annual assessment scheme. This new basic level scheme has been introduced to help keep costs down for accommodation providers; no overnight visit is required, and the cost is from just £78.50.

The assessment scheme checks that your business is "fit for purpose" and meets all current legislation requirements. It checks that your business is safe, clean and well-maintained, and that your website presents a true reflection of your offer.

Once you have received a quality grading your customers can be reassured that your accommodation offers a recognised quality standard - so raising you above those businesses which have no quality assessed grading and can offer visitors no guarantee of even a safe and clean visit.

The scheme is accredited by Visit England, but it is administered at a local level - in this case by the tourism partnership of Wealden and Lewes District Councils. The scheme does not award a star grading but you will be eligible to display the Enjoy Sussex accreditation logo. You will not be eligible to advertise on the VisitBritain/Visit England websites with this basic grading, but you will be entitled to advertise with us at an additional cost. Advertising benefits include promotion on this website and by local Tourist Information Centres (subject to a commission charge).
